City of Evans Bans Marijuana Stores

The Evans City Council has officially joined Weld County commissioners in the banning of pot shops.
The city council on Tuesday passed the ordinance prohibiting marijuana cultivation, manufacturing, testing and retail establishments, mostly due to the fact that the possession and use of marijuana is still illegal at the federal level, said Councilman John Morris.

Morris said there is too much still unknown about how legal use of pot will be regulated in Colorado, and that it’s just not “a good mix in our city at this time.”
Morris also said the council was concerned about the health and well-being of Evans residents, in light of the new state marijuana law.
The council’s decision to pass the ordinance was unanimous.
Do you think the city’s decision will keep marijuana use down? Or will Evans residents just go to other parts of Colorado to buy marijuana
