Some of you know that every Monday I do a KIA Honor Post to pay respect to those who were KIA the previous week. I have done this for almost a year now making sure that I, and hopefully you, don't ever take them for granted. So I wanted to end the week on a positive note.  This will be a weekly feature, every Friday, to honor those who made it home.

SSG Musil started his military career in July 2003 after graduating from Northridge High School in Greeley. After graduating from the Infantry Training Brigade in Fort Benning, GA, he was assigned to the 101st Airborne Air Assault division and attached to 1st Battalion 502nd Infantry Regiment.

While assigned to the 101st, SSG Musil served as a Radio Telephone Operator (RTO) for Bravo Company 3rd Platoon.  SSG Musil proved himself as an Infantryman and was elected to attend the coveted US Army Ranger School based out of Fort Benning, GA, Ranger Training Brigade (RTB).

After successfully obtaining the black and yellow Ranger Tab, SSG Musil returned to his unit at Fort Campbell and became an Infantry Team Leader to lead men in war.

Kiel was deployed to Iraq in September 2005 where he served one tour in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom just southwest of Bagdad in a town called Yusufyiah.

After returning home he enlisted into the US Army Reserves after being honorably discharged from active duty and served as a Small Arms Weapons Instructor while assigned to the Small Arms Readiness Group (SARG) Camp Douglas, UT.

Currently, SSG Musil is assigned to the 2-414th 95th Divisions where he is training to attend the US Army Drill Sergeant School in March.  SSG Musil earned his Bachelor Degree in Political Science from the University of Colorado Denver in the spring of 2012 and happily married to his beautiful wife Jessica.
