Charley Barnes’ Christmas Wish For You

As we get ready to close out another year, I think about all the things I am truly grateful for. My family, friends and you.  For without them, I wouldn't be who I am today.  I have said it before and I'll say it again, I never take for granted how lucky I truly am.

When you surround yourself with good people, good comes out of you.  It can't happen any other way.  The family that I have and friends whom I learn from make me the man I am and for that I am eternally grateful.

The most amazing thing that has happened for 2012 was truly coming to realize that I had in fact found a woman I want to grow old with.  Lesli and her son Joe have completed my family and the mesh between my family and hers was instant.

It's nice to know what family feels like again because for me, it's been over a decade.

Today, is my day. It signifies the first day of forever.

I say all this because it's also my wish for you.  Happiness is something to never take for granted and we should all make the most of everyday to make sure those around us  know how we feel about them.

For almost 15 years now, you all have given me and my family a place to call home here in Northern Colorado and to say I am eternally grateful and thankful doesn't begin to cover how I feel about letting me into your lives.  It's something that is just extremely complicated to explain.  But to sum it up, with you, we are nothing in this industry. Those of us who are lucky enough to survive in a radio market as long as we have at K99 have no one else to thank but you.

Without your unbridled support and believing in our crazy ideas, we are nothing.  I don't care about awards; I have a box full in the attic. My success is based on the fact that I am still here and that is because of you and all the reward I need.

So from the bottom of my heart, I can't thank you all enough for everything you have done for me and I want to personally wish each and everyone of you a very Merry Christmas.
