The Greeley Fire Department in conjunction with the City will be offering a FREE CPR training course for residents of Greeley and those who live in the Western Hills Fire Protection District. If you have a teen who babysits or just want to know what to do yourself, just in case, this is a great opportunity.
If you've spent some time driving around Greeley then you have inevitably been through the intersections along Hwy 85. They were borderline confusing and had more old broken glass and car wreckage in them than any other intersections I have seen. Well, now that's about to change but it might be a bit confusing at first.
Some of you know that every Monday I do a KIA Honor Post to pay respect to those who were KIA the previous week. I have done this for almost a year now making sure that I, and hopefully you, don't ever take them for granted. So I wanted to end the week on a positive note. This will be a weekly feature, every Friday, to honor those who made it home.
The 3rd Annual Red Neck Gala is Saturday, February 2nd at the Moose Lodge in Evans, 3456 11th Ave. Doors open at 5:30 PM and dinner will be served at 6:30 PM. Proceeds will benefit the Barlow Foundation.
Tomorrow is the big day for hundreds of motorcycle riders from all over Northern Colorado as they participate in The Sleigh Riders Motorcycle Toy Run in Greeley. Many look forward all year to this ride and others just enjoy parking along the parade route somewhere just to watch the 300+ motorcycles, all with toys strapped to them, come rumbling through the streets of Greeley on the last Sunday before Christmas and have since 2006.
Elizabeth Gracey won the 2013 Nissan Altima from Ehrlich Nissan in Greeley last Friday at the Union Colony Civic Center in Greeley before Phil Vassar and Craig Morgan took the stage for their Acoustic Christmas Tour. We had the chance to talk to her this week about the experience and she is still in a state of shock.
I don't have any money. None. Literally. I live paycheck to paycheck just like many of you so in 2006 I decided to do the first Sleigh Riders event as my way of using a microphone to get a lot of people together to help my community since my checkbook wasn't going to do it. On Tuesday, December 18th, 5 individuals came together who have done well over the year and decided to pay it forward.
