I grew up wanting to be in law enforcement. TV cops were my heroes when I was a kid and then when I got to meet a real live police officer I was in awe. I have always had the utmost respect for them and the job they do. Today is a great day to salute them.

Today is a big day for birthdays in my book. There are two that are very worthy of celebration. Today the King of Rock n Roll, Elvis Presley would have turned 84 years old. Happy birthday E. Today also marks the birth of the King of Colorado Country, Bob Purcell.

American's seem to love a comeback story. Birthday boy David Lee Murphy may be the best comeback story country music has seen in decades. To those inside the country music industry David Lee never went anywhere. He has been writing hit records and continuing to be a force in the business

We are down to my final 3 weeks here at K99 and I will miss you so much. I have had fun spending some time reflecting and seeing folks and just enjoying the good feelings you have been sending my way. It is a strange time and I need to keep my brain inspired during these confusing and unknown times.

The world needs 'somebody'. We all seem to be waiting for 'somebody' to save the day. We are counting on 'somebody' to figure out all the problems and work it out for us. We put a lot of pressure and hopes on 'somebody'. Are you ready to be that 'somebody'? We need you.

I have talked and written endlessly about my life change and losing all the weight with Benchmark Medical Group in Windsor. Losing 140 pounds was a lot of work and dedication but keeping it off is just as hard. I am proud that I have done that for over a year now.

I am getting ready to go on a break and use up some vacation over the holidays. I am looking forward to some time off to let my brain rest a bit before I get charged up for the final stretch here at K99. The holidays can be a mental struggle for many so I know any help I can get for my mind is beneficial.

I am getting ready to take some time off and enjoy the holidays. I can't wait. I love the sights and sounds of the season especially the sounds. I get lifted by music and Christmas songs always seem to have that effect on me. I love it. Feeling joyous and thankful is a wonderful feeling and there are a few songs that stand out for me each year.

Anyone who knows me knows that I am a die hard, purple bleeding, life long Minnesota Viking fan. I love the Broncos too. They are in my heart but the Vikings are in my blood. If the Broncos lose, I will have a bad day. If the Vikings lose, I will have a bad week. In my 53 years on this earth, they have caused me a lot of bad weeks.

One of the things I am most looking forward to in the future is waking up next to my wife. I have woke up alone for over 30 years and look forward to little companionship right away each day. I have dogs but they aren't in a big hurry to get out of bed and see me off.

I would be lying if I said I haven't be doing a lot reflecting and reminiscing about my radio career as we are in it's final days. I have made so many amazing friendships that will last long after this radio thing is done. I have been blessed to have you in my life but have also made some great friendships with record label people and the artists themselves.

There used to be a joke in country music. When someone would ask what kind of music you liked, you would say 'Both kinds. Country AND western.' It was funny but accurate. The format used to be called country & western because they were two different sounds. We then lumped them all together and just called it country.
