Southern California was one of the first to take what some think are drastic measures, to keep their schools safe. When it comes to keeping our children alive, is anything "too drastic?" The Fontana Unified School District are going to great lengths and had actually ordered their high powered rifles before the Sandy Hook shootings.

Fontana Unified School District administrators had actually ordered the high-powered semiautomatic rifles last fall and were shipped to the school just a week prior to the Sandy Hook shootings.

The school district police (yes, the district has their own police service) purchased 14 of the Colt LE6940's in an attempt to do anything necessary to keep their kids alive. Over the Christmas break, the district's 14 school police officers received 40 hours of training on the rifles.

Fontana isn't the first though as other SoCal school districts have also started "rifle programs" and in fact, some have been in operation for several years.

The school police officers, who already wear sidearms, will now have everything within their means to stop any kind of a school shooting like Columbine and Sandy Hook.

Yes, I fully support this 100%!  Dead gunmen or dead kids; it's an easy choice for me.
