Fans were met with 93 new metal detectors at Sports Authority Field at Saturday's preseason Denver Broncos home opener.

Walk-through metal detectors, the same type as what you might see at the Pepsi Center and Coors Field, were installed to replace the hand wand and pat down system the facility previously implemented. By 2017, the metal detectors will be mandatory at all NFL stadiums.

Officials say this new system will allow fans to enter more quickly and efficiently.

Though the system is similar to what you see at the airport, fans will not need to remove shoes, belts, jewelry, etc.

The same bag policy will remain in place, where fans are permitted to bring one clear bag no larger than 12" by 6" or a one-gallon clear freezer bag (Ziploc or similar) and/or a small clutch bag or purse no larger than 6.5" by 4.5". Additional information about permitted items can be found on the Sports Authority Field at Mile High website.
