High Wind Watch
The National Weather Service has issued a High Wind Watch for Northern Colorado in effect from tomorrow afternoon through tomorrow evening. The strongest winds can be expected east of I-25, where gusts could reach 60 mph. Winds will be increasing by mid-morning, and will reach warning levels in the afternoon.

Rockies End Losing Streak, Beat Marlins 8-4
The Colorado Rockies (16-27) won for only the fifth time this month, taking the final game of the three-game series last night against the Miami Marlins (24-20) 8-4. This time it was Miami that blew the early lead, something Colorado has been doing frequently. The Rockies are off today, before starting a three-game series at Cincinnati tomorrow.

Only the Minnesota Twins (14-27) have a worse record in Major League Baseball than the Colorado Rockies (15-26), who's tailspin continued last night with a 7-4 loss to the Miami Marlins (23-19). Jeremie Guthrie was roughed up early, and their ninth inning rally ended in a double-play, as the Colorado Rockies (15-25) lost 6-4 to the Seattle Mariners (19-24) yesterday afternoon in Denver, completing Seattle's 3-game sweep. The Rockies open a three-game series against the Miami Marlins (22-19) tonight at 5:10 MT at Marlins Park (TV: Root Sports).

The Colorado Rockies (15-22) bullpen couldn't hold on against the Arizona Diamondbacks (17-22), en route to a 9-7 loss yesterday in Denver. All nine of the Arizona runs were scored with two outs. Hewlett Fire Expanding, Now at 5000 Acres
The National Forest Service announced this morning that the Hewlett Fire burning in the Poudre Canyon is expanding. Just under 1000 acres yesterday, the fire has expanded to 5000 acreas, and is only 5% contained. Approximately 200 firefighters were working the fire yesterday. That number is expected to nearly double today.
Moyer Extends Record as Rockies Beat Diamondbacks 6-1
Jamie Moyer extended his record for being the oldest winning pitcher in history to 49 years and 180 days, as the Colorado Rockies (15-21) beat the visiting Arizona Diamondbacks (16-22) 6-1 last night in Denver. The two-game series wraps up this afternoon at 1:10 at Coors Field (TV: Root Sports).
