This trifecta is special in many ways. First it will be a super moon, which means the moon's orbit is closer to earth, making it about 14% brighter than a regular full moon. Second, it is a blue moon! A blue moon is the second full moon in a calendar month. The third reason is that it will be a total lunar eclipse! All of those combinations happening together should make for some pretty awesome photo opportunities!

When should you expect to see the best in the Super Blue Blood Moon? According to NASA, the best time to see it will be early in the morning on January 31st as the moon is setting. The peak of the show should be around 6:30 a.m. and the moon will set over the Rocky Mountains at around 7 a.m.

Better get your camera gear ready! Make sure your memory card has enough space and have fully charged batteries.Let's all hope that Mother Nature plays nice and gives us some super clear skies for the Super Blue Blood Moon!
