Western movies are awesome! They are even more awesome when you find out they were filmed in your home state of Colorado. There is something about western movies that draw me in and get me hooked. At one point in my life, I am almost certain I have seen all of these westerns. One of them however was not worth the $2.12 to rent from the Redbox down the street *cough cough* The Hateful 8 *cough cough*. Alright, now that I got that one out of my system, here are 7 westerns filmed in Colorful Colorado:

  1. Around the World in Eighty Days (filmed in Durango and Silverton)
  2. True Grit (filmed in Castle Rock, Ouray, Ridgway, Montrose, Gunnison and Canon City)
  3. Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (filmed in Silverton, Telluride and Durnago)
  4. City Slickers (filmed in Durango)
  5. Wyatt Earp (filmed in Antonito)
  6. The Lone Ranger (filmed in Creede)
  7. The Hateful Eight (Telluride)
