Infused vodka's not only make for a great backyard patio table decoration, but also a great take with you party host gift. They are easy and are limited only to your imagination.

5 WAYS TO BRIGHTEN UP YOUR SUMMER COCKTAILS — INFUSED VODKA

  • Blueberry: take a good amount of fresh blueberries and put them into a one-quart jar. Cover with vodka, seal the container and wait two days. Strain the vodka from the blueberries (don't throw them away, make them into ice cubes for serving) and Viola! Blueberry infused vodka, team with with lemonade and/or club soda for a refreshing summertime cocktail.
  • Watermelon: Mason jars are great for 'stewing' the vodka with your chosen flavor enhancer. Take watermelon cubes, add about a Tbs of sugar and fill with vodka. Shake it, store it in fridge for a couple of days and enjoy.
  • Pickled Veggies: you know the jar with the carrots, pickles and so on... fill a vessel with these veggies and top with vodka. After a few days you will have the base for one of the most amazing bloody mary's ever.
  • Strawberry-Rhubarb: Trying to figure out what to do with all that rhubarb, dice it up with some strawberries, a heaping Tbs of sugar (or two, taste your strawberries and rhubarb, if they are bitter add more sugar)
  • Orange-Lime-Lemon: chop one of each into pieces add to a 1 quart mason jar and top with vodka. Let sit in fridge for a few days (leave the rind on) and you'll have a nice citrus infused vodka good over ice with club soda, a sparkling wine or in Sangria.

Whatever you do, drink responsibly this summer. Get creative and have fun.
