Loveland resident Russ Morgan will bring a piece of World War II history into downtown Loveland this Saturday, August 1. Tanks, armored vehicles and even a free movie at the Rialto theater.

Russ Morgan has had a fascination with World War II since he was a young boy and has amassed some pretty cool war memorabilia over the years. Morgan owns several buildings downtown and was also instrumental in restoring the Rialto back in the 90's.

His original idea was to just show a free movie to get people into the Rialto who had never been inside the historical building and to help promote downtown Loveland in general. One thing led to another and it all culminated into the "40's on 4th" event set for Saturday, August 1.

The event kicks off at 3:00 p.m. and will take place on Fourth Street between Lincoln and Cleveland. In addition to the Sherman and Stuart tanks that Morgan owns, he has also called in friends from across the country who will be bringing in some of their toys including a German Panzer III tank. All in all there will be somewhere between 15-20 World War II vehicles on location.

Music from the 40's will fill the air, World War II ham radios will be operational and the Rialto will show the classic movie "Kelly's Hereos" starting at 7:00 p.m. and it's all FREE! The best part, when it's all over, the tanks will fire up at 10:00 p.m. and move in parade formation to a parking lot off Railroad and 5th.
