Police arrested a 38-year-old man in connection with the disappearance of a 16-year-old Johnstown girl who was found safe yesterday morning. David Calderon was arrested after the teen was found in a house across the street from where she was with Calderon. Police say Calderon forcibly abducted the teenager and held her against her will. The girl was reported missing just after midnight Tuesday, and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation issued a missing child alert. Calderon was arrested on suspicion of second-degree kidnapping, false imprisonment, unlawful sexual contact, felony menacing, child abuse, and third-degree assault. The Denver Post reports Calderon is being held in Weld County Jail.

Johnstown police told 9News that a relative of Calderon's saw a news report that authorities were looking for a guy named Dave. The relative walked over to the suspect's home and told him, "If you have the girl, let her go."

We reported the girl's name and and showed her picture when she was missing. We're not showing it again because she's a potential victim of illegal sexual contact.
