A California woman's engagement ring is made from her fiance's wisdom tooth - the "coolest ring" she's ever seen in her life.

Carlee Leifkes came up with the idea to use the tooth after getting engaged to Lucas Unger on Halloween.

"So incredibly excited to marry my best friend, the man who knows that his wisdom tooth means more to me than a diamond," Leifkes wrote on Facebook. "We have never been the 'traditional couple,' why the heck start now?"

The couple say they rejected the traditional ring because "diamonds are so overrated."

"My birthstone is a diamond. I don't need one to prove how much someone loves me. He'd already moved all the way from Canada to do that!" said Leifkes.

The pair met at a Canadian music festival earlier this year and plan to wed in Las Vegas later this month.
