Star Trek Legends Beaming Into Colorado This August
Not one, not two, not three, but four Star Trek icons will navigate their way to Colorado in August 2023. Don't miss this opportunity to see these legends.
Colorado Springs Comic Con announced William Shatner and Walter Koenig, not to mention at least one Star Trek guest star, will appear at the Broadmoor World Arena this August 25-27, 2023.
Captain Kirk and Crew In Colorado
William Shatner, a.k.a. Captain James T. Kirk, will be available for autographs and photo ops when he appears at the Colorado Springs Comic Con. He won't be alone, though. Also appearing is his costar of the last 57 years, Walter Koenig, a.k.a. Ensign Pavel Chekov, from the original Star Trek series and movies.
Other Star Trek Celebrities In Colorado
In addition to Kirk and Chekov, a number of Star Trek guest stars will appear in Colorado this August. Among them is Julie Newmar. So, what does Julie Newmar have to do with Star Trek? You may recall she played the character Eleen in the Star Trek episode "Friday's Child." That episode first aired on December 1, 1967.
Also appearing all three days of the event is John De Lancie. You know him as the notorious "Q" from Star Trek: The Next Generation.
How Much For An Autograph?
Set phasers on "empty." By the time you get done with the meet n' greets, you're going to need to take out a loan. Autographs from William Shatner are going to set you back $120. A photo op is $135.
Walter Koenig will be asking $60 for an autograph and $70 for a photo op. John De Lancie is running $60 and $70, while Julie Newmar asks $60-$80 for an autograph and $95 for a photo op.
The Event At The Broadmoor World Arena
The schedule reads:
- Friday, August 25, 2023: 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. (2 p.m. VIP)
- Saturday, August 26, 2023: 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. (9 a.m. VIP)
- Sunday, August 27, 2023: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (9 a.m. VIP)
To meet these celebrities, you'll need to have a ticket to the event. A 3-day VIP ticket will run you $183.99.
As I sit here writing this, serious thought is being given to attending this event. After a few recent interviews, it sounds as though Walter Koenig is looking to retire the character of Chekov and move on to other projects. Who knows how many more conventions or appearances he'll make in the future? The comic con's lineup features a handful of true legends. Don't let it pass you by.
