Seeing turkeys on a farm or in the woods is something you may expect, but when driving through town, sitting at a fast-food drive-thru, or walking down the sidewalk, you wouldn't expect to see a wild turkey, but in Northern Colorado, this is a real possibility. You might even see them when visiting someone at the hospital. These birds apparently know when they can't be caught, because they always pop up in places where you can't get them for Thanksgiving dinner. Nobody warns you about them wandering around town.

Depending on which part of Northern Colorado you live in, you may see them in your front yard, in the neighborhood, or while sitting in traffic, as they cross the road. Prairie dogs are fascinating animals to watch. They are like meercats, but not as cute. These animals are the kind that you enjoy watching and seeing when driving around, but hope they stay far away from your property, as they can destroy crops, gardens, and yards. There are a number of them in the Greeley area, and if you drive out in the spring or summer, you are likely to see many prairie dogs.
