In an industry that's largely dominated by men, Beth Mowins has carved her role as a successful sports broadcaster, and on Monday night during the Broncos-Chargers game, she'll be making history too.

That's because Mowins will be the first female ever to handle play-by-play commentating during a nationally televised NFL game, and only the second woman to call a regular season game in 30 years. Announcing tonight's game at Sports Authority Field at Mile High is just the first to cross off her list, as Mowins will continue to call more match-ups throughout the rest of the season. Mowins is no stranger to the game of football — she got her start at ESPN as a play-by-play announcer in 1994, and has called over 150 college football games, as well as other sports too, ever since. In achieving this new position, she hopes to show women that they too, can follow their dreams and passions when it comes to working in the world of sports.

Mowins will be joined in the booth by former NFL coach, Rex Ryan, as they announce September 11's game between the Denver Broncos and Los Angeles Chargers.
