Why Does Todd Harding’s Dad Have a Bird on His Head? [PICTURES]

As long as I can remember my sister Sheri has had a soft spot for animals.  That hasn't changed. She still has horses, hounds, chickens and cows on a farm in North Carolina.  Now she has a blue bird. We think it is an eastern bluebird.

This is a wild bird.  It fell out of the nest when it was very small and its mother abandoned it.  The little guy was injured by the fall, so my sister decided to nurse it back to health.  Now she can't get rid of it.  The bird has adopted the family.  He even likes to perch on my Dad's head while he works in the garden.

I know it's not a good idea to take in wild animals of any kind, but if Sheri hadn't rescued the bird, he faced certain death.  Now he thinks he is part of the family.
