With Halloween right around the corner, there's no better time to make some popcorn, grab the candy corn, and watch a spooky movie.

For those who have little ones in the house, or maybe just aren't fans of horror movies in general, there are still options to get into the Halloween spirit with a flick that's not as frightening as some of the creepy classics.

USDish recently put together a report that determined the top kid's Halloween movies in each state. To get their results, the team first compiled a list of Halloween movies that have G and PG ratings. Then, they used SEMRush to find the movies that had the highest keyword search ranking. Finally, the team from DISH input the movie names into Google Trends to find each state’s 'most-searched for' film.

Not only are the movies that each state searched for perfect picks for the spookiest season of the year, but they'll also always be entertaining no matter what age a person is.

According to the findings, the most popular kid-friendly scary movie in Colorado is Beetlejuice. The 1988 classic was also a top choice for residents in Arkansas, Delaware, South Dakota, and Vermont.

The overall favorite spooky kid's flick across the country turned out to be Scooby-Doo. The creepy, animated film Coraline came in as the second most searched-for movie on a state-by-state basis.

A recent poll revealed that Colorado's favorite Halloween candy is black licorice (ew). I thought Northern Colorado could redeem the rest of the state, but alas, I was wrong.
