This Colorado City Is Shrinking While the Rest of the State Boom
We know that the majority of cities and towns in Colorado are continuing to grow. Experts predict that Colorado's population will grow to well over six million people by 2030. This means that in just a few years half of a million more people will be living in Colorado.
For the most part, each city in town is growing at a rapid rate in Colorado. However, one town is shrinking.
But One Colorado Town Is Shrinking
A Lot identified the fastest shrinking city in every state nationwide. Their research determined that Westminster is shrinking at the quickest rate in Colorado.
Westminster Identified as Colorado’s Fastest Shrinking City
The population dropped 1.5 percent in one year. We know that 1.5 percent does not seem like a lot, but that is over 2,000 residents who decided to move to another city in Colorado or just a new state in general.
Why Are People Leaving Westminster?
A Lot did not provide any explanation or theories as to why Westminster's population dropped so quickly. Here is what A Lot said:
Perhaps it's the cold weather keeping people away, or perhaps not. Only time will tell.
I am guessing that the cost of living is one of the biggest reasons why.
Colorado’s Urban Boom Continues in Other Cities
Cities and towns in Colorado are still booming in Colorado. There are still more moving trucks coming in than out. Recently we found that Boulder and Fort Collins are having the largest population booms right now.
