A local chapter of The Well-Armed Woman is being launched in Northern Colorado to introduce women to important issues surrounding guns and to provide training opportunities in a comfortable and safe environment.

According to the Longmont Fire, Police and OEM Facebook page, Boulder County's Well-Armed Woman chapter is scheduled to begin meeting at the Longmont Police and Boulder County Sheriff's Office firing range (10916 Weld County Road 5 in Longmont) on September 11, 2016, from 4 to 6 p.m. Future meetings will be held the first Sunday of every month in the same timeframe. Cost to take the class is $15.

Attendees must be at least 21 years of age and have a desire to learn in a comfortable environment. Whether you're just getting started with buying, shooting, or caring for firearms, or you have some level of experience and want to advance your skills, this group might be the perfect fit for you.

If you plan on attending, you're asked to bring with you eye protection and double-hearing protection (required), 125 rounds of ammunition (no steel ammo), your own weapon (minimum of 2 magazines for semi-auto pistols recommended), closed-toe shoes, socks, long pants or shorts, and an appropriate shirt (no low neckline).
