Weld County Says It Won’t Enforce Level Red Restrictions
On Sunday, November 22, the State of Colorado is shifting Weld County from Level Yellow to Level Red, but the Weld County Board of Commissioners and Sheriff Reams have said they will not enforce Governor Polis' restrictions.
On Twitter, a Denver Post editor shared a statement from Weld County's commissioners, which urged residents and business owners to 'take individual responsibilities and make decisions to protect themselves, their families, their communities and their businesses.'
They also clearly stated that they will not confine people to staying home, or ban gatherings.
Additionally, Weld County Sheriff Steve Reams wrote on his Facebook that 'these recommendations and mandates are not law enforcement related and are a public health topic.'
'Wear a mask if you are at risk (if you choose to) and take the appropriate actions to keep safe,' Sheriff Reams said, adding the hashtag '#weareallessential.'
The Governor moved Weld County to “code red”. Please remember that these recommendations and mandates are not law...
