
Weld County Law Enforcement Mourning Loss of Two K9 Officers
The Greeley Police Department and Weld County Sheriff's Office are mourning the loss of two former K9 officers that have crossed the rainbow bridge this month.
Dragonn was a 14-year-old Belgian Malinois that worked by the side of sheriff's deputy Scott Chambers for a total of six years. Dragonn retired from the sheriff's office in 2016 and went home to the Chambers family. Dragonn was put to sleep on June 10.
Rocko was a 9.5-year-old German Shepherd that worked with officer Kevin Clarey of the Greeley Police Department was retired in January after almost five years of service. Rocko passed away over the weekend
According to the Greeley Tribune, both Rocko and Dragonn were dual-purpose K9 officers for their agencies. Both K9's worked narcotics and performed searches, tracking, and apprehension.
