There's a lot of family traditions that people participate in every year, especially around the holidays. Some families go caroling (I've never done that!), some bake, some decorate their homes together, but one that my family and I do every year is to find ways to get gifts and presents to families in need right here in Northern Colorados. A lot of families do that, I've seen the generosity first hand! A lot of businesses find ways to collect and get gifts for families delivered as well... Including the ultimate gift-givers, the United States Postal Service!

Yearly, the local United States Postal Service in Colorado, as well as around the country, participate in their "Operation Santa" program and help make sure that local families who may otherwise go without a holiday, don't have to! The fear of not being able to deliver for your family on Christmas is real, and let's be honest, a lot of us are likely one or two paychecks away from being in a rough situation ourselves. These kids can't help what their parents are going through financially and the United States Postal Service is doing their part to get them covered, but they need your help!

As you can imagine, the Post Office gets many, many letters to Santa each year with wishes for Christmas presents, and you can help make those wishes come true!  You can click HERE to set up an Operation Santa account or you can register at one of the local NoCo USPS buildings. Once registered as a volunteer, you'll be able to read through Santa letters and start fulfilling as many wishes as your heart desires beginning November 29th.

It's been a rough couple of years and there's a lot of local people right here in our Northern Colorado community that need your help. Maybe this USPS Operation Santa isn't your bag, I'd still encourage you to find a way more to your liking so that you can contribute as much or as little as you can this holiday season. Merry Christmas!
