While new Colorado State University head coach Steve Addazio has never coached at a school west of the Mississippi River, he's been hearing about his new college for the past 20 years.

Addazio said last week at his introductory press conference that Urban Meyer has been hyping the school and city of Fort Collins up ever since the two were on the same Notre Dame coaching staff in 1999.

Meyer — a three-time National Championship winning coach — served as the Rams wide receiver coach from 1990 to 1995. He then served in the same capacity for Notre Dame from 1996-2000, where he first crossed paths with Addazio.

Meyer later hired Addazio as an assistant on his Florida staff where the pair won the 2006 and 2008 National Championships together.

CSU reportedly turned to Meyer for help in the latest coaching search. After Addazio was hired, Meyer commented on the hire:
