Two people have been charged in taking a free ride from and robbing a Denver Uber driver.

Wenston Williams, 50, and Kimberly Kovinchick, 32, got a ride from a 55-year-old Uber driver on New Year's Eve in Denver. After the driver took them to the wrong location, the pair robbed him at knifepoint.

Kovinchick was identified as a suspect soon after the incident and was arrested earlier this year. She will appear in Denver District Court for arraignment next month.

In the ongoing investigation, Williams was arrested earlier this week and remains in custody on $50,000 bond. He will appear in Denver County Court on September 28.

Both Williams and Kovinchick are charged with aggravated robbery and first-degree assault. Williams faces an additional 3 counts of possession of a weapon by a previous offender.
