Today is a Day to Celebrate That Voice on the Radio – It’s National Disc Jockey Day
Did you know that today is National Disc Jockey Day! To be honest with you I didn’t even know we had a day until a couple of years ago. What are you getting us? I can honestly say I have never received a card or gift on this day. I don't think Hallmark has cards for this one. I don’t know the proper way to celebrate but I know that I am the luckiest guy in the world to have this job. I love what I do and it is what I always wanted to do.
When I was a child I would sit with the cassette recorder and pretend I was interviewing celebrities. I dreamed of this job when I was a kid and here I am living my dream. I get to play great music. I get to try to be funny on the radio and I get to spend my mornings with you, Todd and Susan. I couldn’t have picked a better career. I am so lucky to get to work with the best in the business at what they do. We need to thank you for once again making K99 the number one radio station in Northern Colorado in the latest ratings. It is an honor to get to do this every day. I am so grateful to my radio guru Bob Beck from Mandan, North Dakota for giving me my first shot at Y93 in Bismarck over 30 years ago and teaching me about this business. If it weren’t for Bob I would have never found this wonderful career.
We are there with you every morning and we are thankful to you for letting us be a part of your lives. Happy Disc Jockey Day to all my fellow on-air warriors.
