This Weekend Will Be the End of Daylight Saving Time
Oh happy day!! My favorite time of the year is here. I love fall, but most of all, I love the end of Daylight Savings Time. Being a man who gets up at 2:45 a.m. each day, I can appreciate an earlier sunrise. I put in nearly 5 hours before the sun starts barking at me. I love mornings, so it will be wonderful to have some daylight before 8 a.m.
I love the structure that early nightfall brings. I can now actually see the end of a day. That makes it a lot easier for me to get a night's sleep if it is actually dark. Summer is so hard when it is light until 9 p.m. It makes it hard to get to bed and get the rest I need. I love that kids get home from school and have about an hour to play until it starts being dark. Then it's time to come in, get the homework done, have dinner together as a family and then spend a little family time together after supper, and then off to bed. I love this routine.
It all goes down this weekend. Daylight Savings Time will end at 2 a.m. Sunday morning and we will move our clocks back to 1 a.m. We get an extra hour!! I love this. My dad used to think he had to get up at 2 am to set the clock back but you can actually do it the night before. It's the most wonderful time of the year. Oh, by the way, it is also a great time to change the batteries in the smoke detectors and maybe wash the sheets while you are at it.
