The Ranch in Loveland No Longer an ‘Alternate Care’ Site
The State of Colorado is no longer using The Ranch Events Complex as an 'alternate care facility,' and it can begin reopening plans, The Ranch announced in a press release on November 2.
The State of Colorado signed the lease with The Ranch on April 7, to function as an alternate COVID-19 care facility. The Ranch, which typically hosts over 700 events annually, from rodeo to car shows, fairs and more, had yet another unusual purpose this year when it became a central command center during the Cameron Peak Fire.
'We consider ourselves an integral part of the community, and as such, we’re exceedingly grateful we’ve been able to assist in a time of need,' said Campus Director Chris Ashby. '2020 has brought trials and tribulations for the whole community, and through it all, it’s been our goal to serve the residents of Larimer County in whatever ways we can.'
The Mac Equipment, Inc. Arena housed more than 250 firefighters and over 450 evacuated animals, The Ranch said.
Now, The Ranch can begin reopening plans, however events and gatherings are still under COVID-19 restrictions.
'The Ranch is working meticulously on re-open plans for the campus that focus on the safety and well-being of guests, staff, and clients,' the press release said.
Additionally, on November 3, UC Health announced that it would soon open a drive-thru COVID-19 testing center at The Ranch.
'The new collection center is ideal for wintertime testing operations because patients will be able to drive through the West Pavilion, where they and staff will be better protected from below-freezing temperatures, snow and ice in the upcoming months,' UC Health said. 'It also will serve as a convenient regional location for UCHealth to serve patients from both Larimer and Weld County.'
