Many businesses have been shutting down in Colorado over the past year. It is sad to see our favorite spots close their doors for good. All we hope for is that we enjoy the new business that will be stepping in its place.

Everyday Joe’s Coffee House in Fort Collins closed after operating for more than twenty years. The closure came as a surprise for many Northern Coloradans. Many of us were not aware of the closure until it was too late.

For example, I had no idea of the closure until I purchased a desk from Facebook Marketplace. I was surprised when the desk belonged to Everyday Joe's and I moved it from inside their empty coffee shop to my home.

The space that occupied the coffee shop has been empty for quite some time. However, a new business will be replacing the coffee shop on Mason Street.

The Coloradoan announced that a trio of investors will open an event planning space at the location.

Everyday Joe's will be reinvented as The Neighbor after a Kickstarter campaign raised over $75,000.

The Neighbor will still have a coffee shop open to the public, but there will be an emphasis on hosting private events such as office parties, weddings, and other gathering opportunities.  Here is how the owners describe their vision.

... a business that honors the heart and soul of 144 S. Mason, but with new life breathed into its brick walls and wooden rafters. A space that hosts incredible events, serves the best coffee and libations in town, and where everyone feels like a neighbor.

Opening Date to Be Determined in Fort Collins

The owners are celebrating reaching their goal and construction will continue throughout the summer.

The opening date for The Neighbor is to be determined,

Nasty 1-Star Google Reviews of Colorado's Nastiest Coffee Shops

Did you know that 91% of Americans buy coffee at a coffee shop at least once per week? Were you aware that 37% of Americans purchase coffee at restaurants or coffee shops four days a week or more? That info comes from a May 29, 2023 report from Craft Coffee Spot.

In my experience, coffee is like pizza, sex, and Star Trek in that even when it's bad, it's still pretty good. As a matter of fact, it's hard to recall the last time I had a bad cup of coffee at a shop or restaurant.

Judging by reviews posted on Google, evidence exists indicating some shops have been known to serve less-than-exquisite coffee. In some instances, the coffee was fine, but the staff was rude.

Some Google reviews were bitter (pun intended) while others were flat-out ridiculous. For your daily laugh, here's a look at some nastilicious 1-star Google Reviews of Colorado coffee houses. Keep in mind, most of these reviews are absolutely absurd, and this is all in fun.
