The Boy Scouts Pinewood Derby Is Still a Blast for Kids of All Ages [PICTURES]
This was a big weekend at my homestead. We not only had the big Habajeeba Show on Friday but Saturday was my grandson Zander's very first Pinewood Derby. The Scouts have been doing the Pinewood Derby for ages and I can remember my brother working on his car when we were kids. The tradition continues to this day.
We went to Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Greeley on Saturday and watched the 2018 Pinewood Derby where my grandson Zander and his car "Charmander" were put to the test on the highly competitive track. "Charmander" did not fair too well in the speed department but did look awesome.
Zander and his little brother Zayden sat and watched every single race and cheered for every car the went passed them. They were such awesome cheerleaders that Zander won the Sportsmanship Award. I will take that over winning a race any day. I am very proud of my little man and thank you to the Boy Scouts for keeping alive this wonderful tradition. Get your kids involved. They will love it and learn some very valuable skills and lessons.
