Teacher Tuesday: December’s Teacher of the Month Is Kara Englert

Townsquare Media is saluting teaching excellence in Northern Colorado with Teacher Tuesday.

You nominated five local teachers for going above and beyond in December, and we asked you to vote for your favorite educator to be Teacher of the Month.

Now, the results are in.

December's Teacher of the Month is...

Kara Englert, a social studies teacher at Milliken Middle School. Ms. Englert's friend Emily nominated her because she "has the highest expectations for her students [and] understands the importance of building trusting connections with her classes."

Ms. Englert told Townsquare NoCo that her favorite thing about being a teacher is building lifelong bonds, stating: "I'm thankful for the opportunity to get to know my students and their families outside of school."

When she's not teaching, Ms. Englert likes paddleboarding, bike riding, and walking dogs at the Humane Society of Weld County.

To thank Ms. Englert for working hard to serve local students in our community, we're honoring her with five amazing prizes.
