Thanksgiving means the whole family—in-laws, distant cousins, grandparents and grandchildren—gets together to share a meal, catch up and generally spend some quality time together. If you're the host, it can be a challenge to entertain such a broad gathering of people.
There have been plenty times I have been standing in the kitchen Thanksgiving morning and I forgot something at the grocery store. Hopefully this list will help both of us be completely prepared, stop laughing and print this list. :)

I will be the first to tell you, I am not a fan of sweet potato casserole, it's a lot of work combined with all of the other kitchen prep and its just too sweet.
Candied carrots are a great side that is earthy and sweet without being to much of either, as I think sweet potatoes can sometimes be. (unless you roast them and that recipe is coming soon)
