High Park Fire

It is so strange to be honored by people that you admire and look up to. We just had that experience this morning. Todd and I, along with Bob Herrfeldt from The Ranch received awards from Poudre Fire Authority Chief Tom DeMint for our work putting together the "Make It Rain" concert for the victims of the High Park Fire.

Saturday May 4th many of us will gather in Masonville for lunch and a beautiful motorcycle ride. This isn't just any motorcycle ride and our destination has been hand picked just for The Sleigh Riders Motorcycle Toy Run.

The Board of Directors for The Sleigh Riders Motorcycle Toy Run are still looking for 100 volunteers that want to help plant 2000 trees in Rist Canyon the first weekend of May.

Details are starting to emerge as we get closer to Spring on replanting a section of the High Park Fire area. As many remember, the Sleigh Riders "Summer Series" event had to be moved due to the fact that half the ride route was on fire. So we decided to do something about it.

Have you hugged a firefighter lately?  The City of Fort Collins has declared August  "Poudre Fire Authority Appreciation Month" because of their amazing work on the High Park Fire west of Fort Collins.

Make It Rain - A Benefit for the Victims of the High Park Fire was a huge success! Between 6 and 7 thousand people packed into the area behind the Budweiser Events Center at the Ranch on Thursday, July 26th for a magical evening featuring 6 Nashville acts!

What an event.  TheMake It Rain concert on July 26th at The Ranch was truly amazing.  Figures are still coming in, but it looks like the concert and the online auction raised nearly $50,000 to help the victims of the High Park Fire and the volunteer fire departments the fought the fire. Our friend Drew Bankston filmed the event that day/evening. Great shots..  take a look!
