Governor John Hickenlooper has ordered that flags be lowered to half-staff today through Sunday to honor a 30-year-old Air Force pilot from Colorado who was killed when he crashed his F-16 jet in the Middle East.
Gov. John Hickenlooper lit the State Capitol Holiday Tree yesterday. The tree is themed the "Gold Star Tree of Honor" to pay tribute to the more than 350 Colorado military service members lost in the global war on terror since Sept. 11, 2001
Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper has been getting some attention recently for comments he made at the recent summer conference of Colorado county sheriffs. Specifically, the governor addressed Larimer County Sheriff Justin Smith by using the "F Word".
I wrote a story earlier this week about the possibility of the Secret Service being authorized to arrest Sheriff's across the country if they fail to uphold new gun control laws. Just a few minutes ago, I received a very nice email from Larimer County Sheriff Justin Smith who wants to clarify a few things.
Let me clear the air on where I stand on gun control. It's an easy issue for me and one that I am not afraid to take a stand on. With that being said, I also agree with those of you who are completely anti-gun, let me explain.
There is a term for what is being talked about yet I can't think of it. Rumor has it though that the Federal government is laying the groundwork to let the Secret Service start arresting Sheriff's for not enforcing new gun control laws; starting with Colorado.
