If you call 911 and ask for directions, you may be getting more than directions -- you may be looking at up to six months in jail, up to a $750 fine, or both.

Adults 21 years and older will be allowed to walk around downtown Cheyenne with an alcoholic beverage in-hand beginning this summer, the city announced Thursday.

In 1897, The City of Cheyenne passed an ordinance prohibiting public performances without a permit. Nearly 122 years later, singing Christmas carols in public could, technically, subject you to a $750 fine or six months in jail.
