My Northern Colorado Must Do Bucket List
Can you believe summer is almost halfway done? It's crazy how fast time moves, which is why every summer our family builds a summer bucket list because some places you just have to visit before school starts back up.
Water World
I have gone to Water World at least once a summer since I was in the fourth grade. Frankly, summer wouldn't be summer without the Denver- based water park.
And for the 2026 season, they've made some pretty cool changes, including the Colorado-inspired Summit Canyon, Colorado's first capsule water drop ride, and a ton of new slides and rides.
As long as they don't ditch the dinosaur ride, I'm good.
Holiday Twin Drive-In
Growing up, going to the drive-in with my parents, and now taking my children, is so cool. Holiday Twin Drive-In has kept the same charming vibe, including a full snack bar, window speakers, and, of course, double features of the newest movies.
Loading the truck up with blankets and pillows and watching the sun go down while waiting for the movie to start will always be on my summer bucket list.
Horsetooth Reservoir
No boat? No worries. Horsetooth Reservoir in Fort Collins has a swim beach. It's kind of like being at the pool, but with amazing scenery and actual sand my kids always loved to play in.
It isn't a real summer break without a visit to this Northern Colorado gem.
So take it from me and create your own Northern Colorado summer bucket list before school starts and life gets a little less sunny and warm.
