I went out for a fun dinner with my fiancée and a few friends, and we decided to check out Sugar Salt Sand on College Avenue.

Sugar Salt Sand describes itself as island-inspired cuisine and cocktails. They opened in 2024, and I've heard nothing but great things about them.

It was a little too hot out, so we decided not to go to the patio. I took a look outside and have to say that it might be one of the best patios in Northern Colorado.

Tropical Atmosphere in Fort Collins

I need to tell you how great the atmosphere was in Sugar Salt Sand. When I walked inside, it did not feel like I was in Northern Colorado anymore.

It felt like I walked into a restaurant in a much more tropical place. The decor was very fun, bright, and green. Plus, the staff was incredibly friendly. If you love color, this will be one of your new favorite places.

Drinks That Transport You Out of Northern Colorado

Let's talk about the food. Their drink selection was incredibly diverse, and if you love tropical alcohol beverages, Sugar Salt and Sand will be your happy place. I ended up getting the house margarita.

Delicious Island-Inspired Dishes

My fiancée got the fish and chips, and I had the spicy mayo salmon poke bowl. The poke bowl was fresh and delicious. My fiancée loved her fish and chips, but she was incredibly jealous of what I ordered.

The poke bowl was fresh, well-balanced, and filling. Sugar Salt Sand will be my new go-to spot for poke, and it was the best poke that I've had in Northern Colorado.
