Special Olympics Unified Relay Across America Runs Through Greeley This Summer
Instead of the Annual Greeley/Weld Law Enforcement Torch Run this year, Greeley PD and Weld County Sheriff's Office, with other local law enforcement agencies, are participating in the Special Olympics Unified Relay Across America. The Flame of Hope is traveling across the country to the Special Olympics World Games in Los Angeles, and the flame/torch will be coming up Highway 85 from the Denver area and through Greeley the afternoon of Saturday, June 27th.
There are 4 local law enforcement teams registered so far, but 10 other legs need to be filled with athletes running or anybody who wants to register a team. Sponsors are needed for the athletes’ participating. The minimum for a team is $100. Everyone is welcome to participate. You can run, bike, jog, walk, or roller blade.
