Since water can conduct electricity, and if lightning hits in just the right spot, you run the risk of being shocked as well.
Staying safe during Colorado storms
While it is rare to be shocked or electrocuted while in the shower, there are documented incidents of people being injured by lightning strikes while in the bath or the shower. So it is probably better to just wait out the storm before you decide to step foot in the shower during a thunderstorm in Northern Colorado.
