I love Christmas and all it brings. It is not gifts that I get off on, it is the feeling that hits my heart and the kindness you feel among people this time of year. While this season can bring out the best in us it can also be one of the worst, depressing and most stressful times for many.

There are lots of folks who put too much pressure on themselves this time of year. You don't need to have the perfectly decorated home, all the right goodies baked and all the proper presents wrapped. You really need none of that if you are not feeling it. Do what you feel. If you get your spirit filled by decorating and baking...do it. If you get stressed out by it...don't. You are free to celebrate in as grand or subtle of style as you wish. There are no rules. You don't even have to participate if you do not want to. I do not go out or celebrate New Year's because it just isn't something I care about. No one forces you to celebrate the holidays.

There are many people who find this time of year to be a painful reminder of lost loves and friends. There are many who find this time frames the fact that they are alone. If you are one of those, there are things you can do to feel the spirit if you are looking to. You could volunteer to serve meals or deliver toys or wrap gifts or read at a senior center or help at a church. There are many opportunities if you desire. You may choose to just sit alone and wait for it to pass. I get that too. Just know that you do matter and are cared for. I care about you and appreciate you. If I can give you anything this holiday season it is my gratitude for being my friend, reading this and being there for me. I am here for you if you need me. If you need someone just to say hello and Merry Christmas to you...give me a call. I have plenty of spirit to share.

If you know of someone who may be alone this holiday season and you know they would be lifted by your presence or words...give that to them. Let's lift those who need to be lifted this season. It doesn't take money...it just takes heart and time. We all have that. Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays. Give the gift of you this year and think of those who may not find this season so merry. Peace and love.
