The incident happened south of the Wyoming border, near mile marker 297. Two people were in the truck when the incident occurred and both were uninjured.

The passenger of the truck believes that the shots came from the field east of the interstate. The Colorado State Patrol was not able to identify the exact location from which the shots could have come due to the field's size.

Weld County Sheriff's Department is investigating to see if the truck's sustained damage is from bullets.
