Whether you're capping off a Poudre River rafting trip or just want to spend a summer afternoon sipping local beers while taking in views of the Fort Collins foothills, Paddler’s Pub is the perfect place to perch up.

However, like many other local small businesses, Paddler's Pub and their associated mountain whitewater rafting company faced many new challenges during 2020, as well as a drop in sales, due to COVID-19. According to their Facebook page, Paddler's Pub's revenues were only 68% of their typical earnings last year.

But despite the rapids that Paddler's Pub faced in 2020, they are determined to keep pushing through. In fact, the local business just unveiled plans for a brand new building design that will be ready for the upcoming rafting season.

Paddler's Pub says that the new 5000-sq.-ft. building includes an office, bar and retail shop. They'll also be serving up pizza and have live music featured in the new space.

The new additions add to the fun that the pub already offers, including food trucks, sand volleyball, cornhole and giant Jenga.

Since opening in 2011, the bar has had quite a few disputes with Larimer County. Paddler's was even forced to briefly close at one point while changes were made to abide by city codes. This new building should help combat some of the previous issues they were running into in the past.

Paddler's Pub is located at 1329 North Highway 287 in Fort Collins.
