Load up the car and let's go!

The holidays are the most wonderful time of the year. As we wrap up the year, we get to spend it in the best way possible... with our loved ones. Every year at this time, we would load up the car and drive halfway across the country to visit the grandparents and all of the cousins.

We would also load up our two dogs and our cat to take with us. By the time we got out of the car after a 27-hour trip, we were covered in hair. I'm sure we were a sight to see.

Good memories, right there.

Where do you travel when the holidays hit? Do you go visit family? Are there places you love to visit because of their winter charm?

According to this list of 2021's Best Winter Holiday Destinations from Wallet Hub, we should be headed to Denver.

To be more specific, they selected the Denver-Aurora-Lakewood area and it landed pretty high on their list. It finished seventh out of the 32 places listed.

The criteria for these choices included travel costs, weather, attractions and more. Honestly, I think Denver is a great place for other people to visit during the holidays, but we have a lot of the same things to offer right here in NOCO. And the best part is that if you stay local, you won't have to deal with crowds of tourists who are heeding this list.

As for the top three places on the list, they are as follows.

3. New York-Newark-Jersey City area in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania

2. Washington-Arlington-Alexandria area in Washington DC, Virginia, Maryland, West Virginia

1. Atlanta-Sandy Springs-Alpharetta area in Georgia

Again, I think I'll just hang here.
