Old Fashioned Corn Roast Festival This Weekend

I love corn-on-the-cob! I do! I love it. It only lasts a couple months every year, so during that period my wife and I eat corn at least 2 or 3 times a week. So it's no surprise that I a thrilled about the 2011 Old Fashioned Corn Roast Festival in Loveland this weekend.

There is a corn shucking competition, a corn eating contest, a corn recipe contest, roasted and boiled corn to eat, and "corn-related" activities.  I don't even know what they are, but it popped my kernels when I heard about it.

The 2011 Old Fashioned Corn Roast Festival is today ( Saturday, August 27th) at Fairgrounds Park downtown Loveland.

Saturday, August 27

Roasted and boiled corn for sale

- 6:00 a.m.: Hot Air Balloon Launch

- 6:00 a.m.: Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast (6:00 – 9:30 a.m., $5 Adults, $3 kids under 12 years old, All you can eat pancakes)

- 9:30 a.m.: Parade (Railroad to 6th to Cleveland)

- 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. : Vendors & Amusements (some vendors open until 9:00)

- 10 a.m.- 9 p.m.: Food Vendors & Roasted/Boiled Corn

- 11 - 11:30 a.m.: Loveland HS Band (Main Stage)

- 11:30 – 11:45 a.m.: Candlelight Dinner Playhouse - preview of Annie Warbucks (Main Stage)

- 11:45 – 12:00 p.m.: Choice City Breakerz (Main Stage)

- 11:30 a.m.: Corn Recipe Contest Begins (Grandstands)

- 12:15 – 1:45 p.m.: Loveland’s Got Talent Contest (Main Stage)

- 1:45 p.m.: Parade Winners & Corn Recipe Winners Announced

- 11 a.m. - 10 p.m.: Beer Garden
