Too Strange To Be True: Colorado Laws Edition

There are some pretty crazy laws in Colorado that I had no idea about. Think broader than speeding or littering.

Let's take a look at some insane Northern Colorado laws where you could totally get a hefty fine.

Collecting Rain Water

This strange law is a little deceiving once you read further into it. You CAN collect rainwater, but there's a limit on how much. Which is weird because...why? If you collect more than two barrels or about 110 gallons, you could receive a hefty fine.

Harassing Wildlife

This one makes me happy because why would anyone mess with wild animals? It's a mystery, but apparently, it was becoming such a problem that the authorities had to step in to regulate.

So what constitutes "harassing the wildlife"? This will blow your mind. At the top of the list is trying to take a selfie with an animal. But if you're trying to do this, don't you sort of deserve to get chased around a bit? I think so.

Keeping Your Car Snow Free

We've all been there. You wake up early in the morning only to find your car completely covered in snow from the night before. Maybe you're on a time crunch and don't have time to de-snow your car. If a cop sees an excessive amount of snow blowing onto other cars on the road, you could get a ticket.

Driving Barefoot

While many believe driving barefoot is ticket-worthy, it actually isn't. And that makes me happy because I am guilty of doing this. Especially during the summer months. Please don't judge me.

Pet Hampster

Literally the strangest one on the list (in my opinion), lots of Colorado residents believe you need a special permit to own a hamster. Luckily, this is, in fact, a myth.
