The COVID-19 pandemic has been a difficult time for everyone, especially local business owners.

That's why Larimer County and Colorado State University partnered to create Pivot Larimer County, an initiative designed to help businesses "pivot" their operations in order to adapt to challenging times.

The first step involves Pivot Jumpstart, a free four-part workshop that leads business owners through the 'pivot' process. During the workshops, businesses are also placed with cohorts, so that they can benefit from each others' expertise.

"We've had some really great outcomes come from the program," said Arthur Sintas, MBA, Community Impact Manager at the Institute for Entrepreneurship at CSU, in our "Tuned In to NoCo" interview. "We've had businesses [be] able to start new revenue streams and become more profitable...we've had jobs created. You get a chance to really dive deep in some of these topics to become more resilient."

Participants can register for the next session, which begins on Friday, June 4, here. Aside from the sessions, business owners can also access targeted digital resources from CSU's College of Business.

Executive Education scholarships are available to business owners who wish to continue their learning after the program. Interested parties can learn about these additional courses here.

For those who would like to dive deeper, Pivot Larimer County is offering one-on-one mentoring sessions for businesses with specific needs. Mentorships are available through the program thanks to the support of partners like the Fort Collins Area Chamber of Commerce, who has been supporting Northern Colorado's businesses throughout the pandemic.

"When COVID hit...we saw an opportunity for the university to support local businesses through the educational programs and services that we have," said Sintas. "We do see this as an opportunity to become more resilient beyond COVID."
