Do you remember where you were in May of 1988? The number one country song on the charts was "It's Such a Small World" by Rodney Crowell and Rosanne Cash. The top pop song was George Michael's "Father Figure". Sean Penn's movie "Colors" was leading the box office and the top five TV shows were 60 Minutes, Cheers, A Different World, Roseanne and The Cosby Show. The Broncos were coming off a crushing Super Bowl defeat to the Redskins 42-10, our minor league baseball team, the Denver Zephyrs went 72-69 and we were still 3 years away from the birth of the Colorado Rockies and the Avalanche were still 7 years from their birth.

It was at this time that I was hired by what was then known as "KUAD- QUAD 99 The Power Station". I joined a team of Todd Harding, Johnny O, Rockin' Ron, Tim Dunbar and Chris K. It seems like it was yesterday I walked through these doors looking for my break and here I am 30 years later. What a ride. We have won CMA awards, been the CBA Broadcaster of the Year and even made it to the Country Radio Hall of Fame. My life has surpassed my wildest dreams. I was blessed to be put together with Todd Harding and become the Good Morning Guys. We had a rough start but things got clicking and then Susan came into our lives and things really took off. I am a very blessed and happy man. If I never get another day on the air I would still feel complete. This has been more than I could have imagined.

I am most proud of creating the Habajeeba Show, the fundraisers we have done for our vets and the 28 Hours of Hope. If I have done nothing else, these three are enough to make me feel accomplished in my career. I know we have made a difference.

I know Todd will put together a more extensive piece as the actual anniversary gets closer but I wanted to take a minute to say thank you. Thank you to my family for putting up with this crazy adventure and thank you to YOU for making this whole wonderful life possible. I ain't done yet...but this sure has been fun. A special thanks to the Ward family for this wonderful piece commemorating the occasion. I love it!!
