Man Who Attacked Grocery Store Security Guard Identified, Charged For Attempted Murder
The suspect in an attack on a King Soopers security guard that was recorded on a surveillance camera has been identified as Xavier Cardona, 21.
According the Aurora Police Department, he is being charged with attempted first-degree murder, first-degree assault, aggravated robbery, felony menacing and theft.
Business employees recognized the male suspect and tipped off the police after seeing photos that police released Wednesday morning.
Police say that Cardona attacked the guard and left him unconscious after being caught shoplifting late at night on October 6.
The security officer is currently at home, recovering from his severe, but non-fatal injuries, according to Fox31.
Half of the $10,000 reward for information about the incident was offered by King Soopers.
