A Florida man has pleaded guilty to one count of wildlife trafficking after smuggling approximately 70 monitor lizards from the Philippines, as reported by the Denver Post.

The man involved, 44-year-old Akbar Akram, pleaded guilty earlier this year to trafficking an endangered species, in which he stuffed live lizards into socks and hid them inside of electronics.

The water monitor lizards were shipped under a false label, and the 'equipment' was transported through commercial carriers to the smuggler's associate in Massachusetts. Akram then began selling these wild lizards to people in Colorado, Connecticut and Massachusetts.

Now that the news is done, it's Dad joke time.

Did you hear about the man who slaughtered the lizards? He was a cold-blooded killer.
